Let’s get a jump-start on the New Year and talk about Resolutions. Here’s my suggestion: Don’t set any! The majority of people who set resolutions (promises they make) don’t follow through with them. If they did, the world would be full of physically healthier individuals as the majority of resolutions are related to improvements in physical health. Goals are a better bet in terms of follow-through, and yet, as James Clear, author of Atomic Habits points out, both winners and losers have the same goals. In order to rid yourself of the weight you want to lose and maintain that weight, having a daily system of behaviors, of good habits, is what will lead you to the winner’s circle. As a bariatric patient, your daily system needs to have some core components. Listen in and learn what those are! Then establish your unique system and you’ll remain at a healthy weight and enjoy living life fully!
